Dietitian Licensure
The State of Hawaii established the dietitian licensure law in 2000. This law sets minimum requirements for education, practice experience and examination to become a Licensed Dietitian in Hawaii.
Although the law was passed in 2000, a licensing program has not yet been launched.
Once the law is enacted, only those individuals who meet minimum qualifications and obtain their license may use the title Licensed Dietitian. The Hawaii Dietetic Association continues to work with the Hawaii State Government to facilitate implementation of dietitian licensure.
